Destinations: A Photo Tour of Indianapolis

That's me in the back seat, pretending like I do these types of things all the time.

I did some things on my visit to Indianapolis that I never thought I'd do. Among them, a ride through the city streets in an actual IndyCar. Yup - for just 30 bucks, you can hop into the backseat of a street-legal Indy whip for a 5-minute ride. It's a quick trip, but worth the thrill.

If that's not enough time for you, the company, Indy Racing Experience, will take you in the same two-seater at 180 mph around its speedway.

What I did expect on our visit to Indy was food. A lot of it. And that's just what we got. I mentioned before that we didn't have a bad meal here. That's true. In fact, we didn't even have just an "OK" meal here. Everything we ate was something to write home about. Er, blog about. Some must-try restaurants when you visit: Cerulean at The Alexander, Bluebeard, Black Market and, ah yes, Cafe Patachou.

We stopped in at Cafe Patachou for breakfast one morning before a day of exploring and riding along the bike trail. The broken yolk sandwiches here are life-changing and the Cuban breakfast will make you forget your own name. Seriously. So. Good.

Sun King cans protect the craft beer from sunlight and oxygen. Plus, they're lined on the inside so you don't have to worry about "aluminum-y" taste.

Geeking out over the beer-making process with the guys at Sun King Brewery was definitely a highlight, too. It's obvious that Dave and Clay love what they're doing. Their passion has resulted in some spectacular beer, including a few brews made in aged bourbon barrels. They have a tasting room where you can sample their house, seasonal and specialty beers.
