5 Summer Beauty Must-Haves

5 Summer Beauty Must-Haves - Style Jaunt, A Fashionable Travel Blog

I thought Phoenix summers were tough on a girl's beauty routine. Turns out, stalking around New York City's burning-hot asphalt during the summer (almost always running late to somewhere) is even worse. I can't tell you how many times I've shown up to an event or meeting flushed and wishing someone would create the world's first stylish personal AC unit. Until that happens, I'll have to stick to my own NYC Girl's summer beauty survival kit, which I've honed nicely over the past few weeks. Here's what's in it:

1. Ouidad Climate Control Shampoo & Conditioner ($19 & $21): They don't come with me in my makeup bag, but there's no way my hair could ever survive its first New York City summer without this de-frizzing duo. Even on the most humid of days, I'm able to control my lion's mane (granted, it takes a little more effort during this season).

2. Mark Cheat Sheet Shine Blotters ($6): There's a difference between that healthy summer glow and an oily face. I just stocked up on these oil-absorbing shine blotters. They're perfect for on-the-go touch-ups because they suck up the oil from your nose, cheeks and forehead without mussing your makeup.

3. Epicuren Lip Balm SPF 15 ($9): When you're layering the sunscreen this summer, don't forget that your lips need protection, too! I first received this lip balm in an event gift bag a while back and it's since become one of my favorite products. The tee tree oil makes it extra-cooling.

4. Kerstin Florian Rehydrating Neroli Water ($35): If I could, I would bathe myself in this stuff. Never mind the fact that it costs 35 bucks for just over 3 ounces. This is another product I've gotten in a handful of gift bags and every time I receive a bottle, I ration it like it's my last slice of bread. Sadly, I just ran out of my latest stash so instead I'm going to try and make this DIY cucumber aloe mist.

5. Kiss My Face Liquid Rock All-Natural Deodorant ($5): A recent assignment to scope out the best in all-natural deodorant turned me on to this product from Kiss My Face. It's paraben-free and made without aluminum, but still super effective.

What's in your summer beauty survival kit?
